You have forgotten or dont know all the features of the Swedish splitting axe. Husqvarna Splitting Axe Review | Wranglerst
When you have a smaller piece of Wood, land the axe in the Wood, it does not split, but is stuck in the Wood, turn the axe. If the back side of the axe is sticking up over the Surface of the Wood, turn it (axe and wood, all in one pice) around and smack the backside on a piece of sturdy Wood, and the Wood will split.
Swing the axe, axe get stuck but does not go all the way into the Wood, pick it all up, swing axe with Wood stuck to it, and you will split the Wood.
